Trakstar is seeking a remote Senior Sales Engineer to contribute to the next phase of growth with our company’s brands and product portfolio.  The ideal candidate for this critical position will serve as a technical partner to our Sales and Customer Success teams to support new customer sales engagements, account expansion, and integration projects. Your contributions will focus on our market leading employee lifecycle management SaaS products. You will use a combination of strategic sales skills and technical aptitude to present solutions to customer needs in a way that increases win rates and solves problems for integrations and deployments.  This is a unique opportunity to serve as the glue between sales, customer success, product, and engineering for a growing SaaS company.

This position reports to the CTO and collaborates with senior leadership from the product, engineering, sales, and customer success departments.

What you’ll do:

As a key contributor to the technical sales process and our integrations projects, you’ll be responsible for creating trust and confidence with our customers and our internal teams during the pre- and post-sales process to persuade prospects to choose the Trakstar portfolio of products.  Your technical skill will be deep enough to handle questions raised by a customer’s technical team in the areas of platform security, architecture, data, integrations, SSO, and more, while your sales skill will contribute towards closing new wins.  You will represent unmet customer needs as a stakeholder for the product and engineering teams, and you will feel at home giving technical demos and presentations to customers.  Your ability to field questions from the sales team and represent the advanced knowledge and subject matter expertise on our platforms, APIs, integrations, SSO, and more, will contribute toward the overall growth of the business.

You will –

  • Participate in frequent sales and customer facing presentations to cover technical topics, answer questions as a subject matter expert, and explain our products and integrations for prospective and current clients.
  • Build rapport with prospective and existing customer stakeholders and their technical representatives for the purposes of supporting the sales and customer success teams.
  • Resolve technical issues, facilitate integration projects, serve as the technical expert to support customer deployments.
  • Drive discovery conversations and meetings with customers to identify integration opportunities and facilitate deployment of integrations between ATSI platforms and third parties; engage proactively with customers to calendar discovery conversations and work through technical requirements for integration projects
  • Regularly report status on integration projects and pre-sales support projects.
  • Assist with the functional and technical elements of RFPs and security questionnaires.
  • Build subject matter expertise on the Trakstar platforms and integrations.
  • Help teammates resolve complex problems or think through integration challenges.

  • Drive meaningful feedback to product and engineering on customer needs, technical challenges and opportunities.
  • Seek feedback and deliver constructive criticism in a tactful and empathetic manner; build others up and mentor without ego.
  • Understand technical concepts such as APIs and Single Sign-On; guide implementations using these technologies.
  • Facilitate and manage multiple integration projects using various integration platforms such as Workato and Zapier.
  • Identify potential API enhancements and bring those to product management based on your experience working with customer integration use cases.

Your qualifications:

  • Experience working with a SaaS company that has PCI, SOC 2, NIST-800-53 or similar security compliance requirements
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience; emphasis in engineering, data science, computer science or information systems preferred
  • Have a minimum of 3 years pre- or post-sales experience with SaaS application sales,  implementations, and integrations or related sales enablement experience
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills including: need analysis, positioning, business justification, and closing techniques
  • Able to present with confidence, simplify complexity, handle objections and control an audience through technical demonstrations, presentation of features and roadmaps, and through resolution of customer concerns
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Experience with Agile SCRUM model
  • Pivotal Tracker / JIRA experience
  • RESTful APIs, secure sessions, identity management concepts such as OAUTH, SAML, etc.)
  • Nice to have experience with Workato, Zapier and other integration platforms
  • Can develop simple prototypes for integrations to APIs and understand how to debug API integrations and SSO integrations.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Range $90,000 - $125,000 /year
